Re: Lune Camping

Thank you so much for letting me know, Pam. I haven't been able to come for 3 years due to health problems so it means a lot to me to be able to come again. I haven't put down for helping due to ongoing health issues but you know I will help if I am fit enough at the time.

Re: First weekend Trip

I would also suggest taking Babywipes - these have a multiple of good uses.

Re: Taking dogs to Ireland

I used to take my dogs over to Ireland and thoroughly enjoyed it. I showed my Puli, Reiki, and she actually is an Irish Champion in Breed. I competed in agility with Tosca, my recently departed Puli, and Tarot my tricolour Sheltie. When I competed in the South some of the rules were different but I ...

Re: Oldies & their habits

Oh I can relate to all of this, Aljeanna. Tosca had me on my toes before she passed on at nearly 16. She was blind at the end and, if she lost us, would set off at the speed of light in the opposite direction. She never moved as fast as she did then. Reiki, my other Puli, now has Cushings and has a...

Re: alfie allergy help with food

Sorry to hear you are having all these problems. I can empathise as I have just had my Puli diagnosed with Cushings so am also going through a stressful time. I feed raw to my dogs. You could give chicken wings, any fish - either raw or tinned sardines or pilchards, tripe?, minced chicken, pork ribs...

Re: Grade 1 handler running G4 dog which KC class?

The dog would run as a Grade 1 and if it won the class would become a Grade 2.

Re: harvest Mites

Actually - Aloe vera as a plant is listed as toxic to dogs so it's probably best to be used also with caution. Maybe this means just when it is eaten. I grow aloe vera plants and have always used the leaves split open to use on my dogs. Tosca has just died at 15 years 7 months so I don't think it...

Re: So Sad

What a hard time for you. It's hard to know what triggered this attack and, with rescue dogs, you do not know what they have suffered previously. I am sure that you will make the right decision. I took on a dog that bit people and I had 7 years of anxiety and involvement with the police when she nip...

Re: Ring Size

To be honest I think more small medium handlers need to train distance work. Yes it can be hard to train a small/med no collie to work away but it is possible and can give you the upper hand in competition as you can get in position better for the next sequence. I would agree with this statement...

Re: Camping chair recommendations

I have the padded recliner type and bought it very reasonably at the start of the season at B and Q. So very comfortable, as Helen says, for eating, reading or resting.

Re: Total Confusion .. help

I would absolutely agree with you, Lindsey, for people working at the lower grades. A handler needs as many tools in their toolbox as possible and can then work out what suits their dog best. But Sarah is already running in Champ classes and I do not think it would be advisable to completely change ...

Re: Total Confusion .. help

Sarah, the way to train a dog is by being consistent. As someone fairly new to agility I can appreciate that you want to learn as much as you can. But. as you have found out, that can become very confusing. You must do what you feel happy with. Decide whether you want to be in front of your dog or b...
