Re: Area meetings

People do e-mail all the reps especially when its an important issue and opinions give this way are used, as with others I do not have many at my meetings but I do have a good selection from all grades and some experienced judges as well so I do find the meetings very valuable.
If anyone has comments about the way opinion is gathered prior to the KC meeting then ask the KC to put it on the next agenda as a discussion item.
Sadly I will not be standing for election to the council this time, Mary has had to give up competitive agility and of course if I am not going to shows it is not right for me to represent the Midlands on the council.
PS: I will still be organising the Olympia agility heats & Finals as usual.

Because not everyone has access to the internet? Most reps accept phone calls, as well as emails and e-messages from people who cannot attend meetings, so views can still be expressed.

Why can't we have the best of all worlds? Meetings/reps and on-line options. That way everyone has the opportunity to take part and vote in a way that suits them and no-one is exluded for whatever reason. If the proposals are well presented in the various ways open to us nowadays, I think people can (and do) have useful discussions amongst their peers and can form valid opinions without hearing a few more at a poorly attended meeting.

No late entries at Phoenix UKA

The Phoenix UKA show to be held at Langford on Saturday 26 May has reached it's capping level and so we are sorry but will NOT be accepting any late entries at the show.

The access road required for the recent building works has left the main field unsuitable for parking and so please assist our car park attendants by parking where directed. There is enough suitable ground in the field for the rings and you will be able to walk your dogs on the rest of it.

The canteen will be open at 7.30am for breakfast.

As well as holding our raffle in aid of the Langford Trust the following trade stands will also be attending:

Klassy Canine Bakery
Absolutely Animals (collars leads)
Delta Dogs (bedding and all sorts of things)
Naturally4Dogs
Pet-ography (Chris Jones) Pet portraits
Emma Elliott Photography
K9 Bodyworks (Canine Massage Therapist)

We hope to see you all for an enjoyable day in the sunshine!

Thanks Dave - we're at Hinckley so might catch you although I want to be at a meeting really so I can catch the debate. My views aren't especially strong on the issues this time around so may just leave you to enjoy the show Is there any chance you could arrange future meetings at a show like that if there is enough demand for it? Definitely better for me but obv only worth considering a change if plenty of others prefer if too

STARS Autumn show, SW Scotland

Hi everyone

Just to let you know that we had a meeting of our club members last night. All the STARS (Stewartry Agility Runners) are really enthusiastic about welcoming agility friends to an autumn agility show on Saturday 24th November to be held indoors at the Barstobrick Equestrian Centre, Ringford near Castle Douglas. This will follow the successful format of our Easter Show so that dogs can have 4 runs and use of a warm up/training ring during the day for £10. Entries will be capped at 100.

Schedules will be published here and on the Agilitynet schedules page by the end of July.

We look forward to seeing you.

Re: Muscle Wastage

Have there been no xrays done to confirm diagnosis?

I have a labbie girlie been on long term steroids for a few years now and she's doing well, has hydro weekly for her muscles but I've discovered a really good diet also helps so she gets everything from her food. She's not put too much weight on either although she says it's cos I don't feed her enough

I wouldn't have thought steroids alone would have an impact on a cancerous tumour growth (if it is) though....would need other adjuvenant therapy for that maybe?

Hope things continue to improve, sounds like she's doing well
